Pastors Fitz & Sophia Carter

Fitzgerald and Sophia Carter are the Lead Pastors of Bethel DC360, an Assemblies of God Church in the heart of the US Capitol, Washington, D.C.,  where they serve the southwest community with a church fellowship that seeks to make a difference inside the capital beltway and beyond.

Fitzgerald is from the DMV and at the age of 17 he preached his first sermon right here at Bethel. Since then he has been privileged to serve in youth ministry, missions, and music education in Florida, West Africa, and the Caribbean.  Fitzgerald and Sophia have been married for over 30 years and together they are the proud parents of two incredible young adults, Sheree, and Benjamin. Their beautiful family is growing, as they were blessed with daughter in-love Yasmin in 2017 and granddaughter Mia in 2020.

In 2006 they exchanged the warm tropical breezes of the Cayman Islands for the four seasons of the DMV, and it’s been an amazing journey serving alongside each other.  Fitzgerald and Sophia share a profound love for Jesus Christ and a passion to make disciples for Him.  Undoubtedly God is at work in SW D.C., and they are excited to join Him.

Fitzgerald and Sophia are both  honored to serve in this great community and in a local body of Christ that has a passion for worship, hearts for the hurting, compassion for the needy, and always being filled with HOPE (having only positive expectations). Because God always finishes what He starts, they are excited to be a part of the Bethel DC360 family and what God is doing in Washington, D.C., the capital of our great nation.
